It comes up in this mock test: Excel test for admin jobs
Why this works
WEEKDAY(A2,2) numbers Monday 1 to Sunday 7, so Friday, March 15 gives 5. Without the second argument the week starts on Sunday, the American way, and Friday is 6. With type 2, a test like WEEKDAY(A2,2)>5 finds the weekends.
Common mistake: Leaving out the second argument. Excel then counts from Sunday, and every day number is one off from a Monday week.
The answer
- B2
=WEEKDAY(1A2,22)
In plain words: The day of the week of 1the date in A2, 2counting Monday as 1.
