Why this works
AVERAGE(B2:B7) is 887 / 6 = 147.8333… ROUND takes that result as its first argument and the number of decimals as its second, so ROUND(AVERAGE(B2:B7),1) is 147.8. Formatting the cell to one decimal only changes how it looks; ROUND changes the value that other formulas see.
Common mistake: Formatting the cell to one decimal and stopping there. The cell still holds 147.8333…, and totals built on it use that.
The answer
- E1
=ROUND(1AVERAGE(B2:B7),21)
In plain words: Take 1the average of the visitors in B2:B7 and round it to 21 decimal place.
Put AVERAGE inside ROUND, =ROUND(AVERAGE(B2:B7),1), where 1 is the number of decimals.
