Why this works
Shift turns a movement into a selection. Combined with Ctrl it selects to the edge of the data, so you never have to drag down a long list with the mouse.
Common mistake: Dragging with the mouse past the end of the table. The selection then includes empty rows, and they end up in charts and formulas.
The answer
- Extend the selection by one cellShift+Right
- Select to the last filled cellCtrl+Shift+Down
Click the first cell, press Shift+Right to the last column, then Ctrl+Shift+Down to the last row.
