Questions

What is the difference between MODE and MODE.SNGL?

None. MODE.SNGL is the newer name, from Excel 2010 on, and gives the same result. MODE.MULT returns every number that ties for most common.

Can MODE find the most common text?

No, MODE only looks at numbers. For text, count each value with COUNTIF and pick the one with the highest count, for example with INDEX and MATCH.
