# **Apply strikethrough**

Ctrl+5

Draws a line through the text in the selected cells, or removes it again. It is a quick way to mark a task as done without deleting it. In Google Sheets the shortcut is Alt+Shift+5. In a browser, Ctrl+5 jumps to the fifth tab, so practice it in Excel itself.
