# **The ROUNDDOWN function**

Rounds a number down, toward zero, to a given number of decimals.

## **Syntax**

```
ROUNDDOWN(number, num_digits)
```

<dl><dt>**number **</dt>
<dd>The number to round down.</dd>
<dt>**num_digits **</dt>
<dd>Decimals to keep; 0 cuts off to a whole number.</dd></dl>

## **Examples**

B1`=ROUNDDOWN(<sup>1</sup>3.149,<sup>2</sup>2)`

| 1 |  | **3.14** |

**In plain words:** Round <sup>1</sup>3.149 down to <sup>2</sup>2 decimal places.
